Ok I've slabbed some really nice oak. They are drying in my barn. I have plenty of room to store them there till they are ready for use. But I've seen some videos of guys using an antifungal and insecticide solution to help the wood keep. My question is if I store them in the barn is that good enough or do I need to use a solution on them. And is there one out there that won't harm the integrity of the oak???

I'd never bothered with any of that. Just paint the ends with latex or Anchorseal and sticker. Keep an eye out for carpenter ants over time though never known those critters to dig into Red Oak. Too acidic for their mandibles me thinks.

20 mule team borax broadcast on the ground prior stacking/sticking lumber / Keep wood op off the dirt. / do a little research on food grade diatomaceous earth and borax. Impressive results economical and environmentally friendly unless you are a bug. The sap wood seems to be the sweet spot for most bugs.
