I own the Echo and have used/abused it for about 5 years. I also have the 5 ft. ext. I have only used the ext. a couple of times as it makes the whole thing so heavy that you can only hold it straight up. If you want an ext. still in the box email me.

Hi Silverblue, et al,

The repairs I`m speaking of are all related to bent extendable shafts or tubes, whatever you want to call them. Yes these repairs are the result of misuse for the most part but the Echo seems less prone to this type damage.

Stihltech,

I only see professionals use Stihl trimmers about as often as Husky in the area between Greater Syracuse and Oswego. Mostly Shindaiwa, Echo, and Robin.

trimmers

Although I cant comment on pole saws as I dont own one I do have a few on trimmers. Stihl fs85 and above are top notch. I own both a fs 85 and new fs250 and I love both of them. My business has a jonsered brush saw and two echo trimmers and neither is even close to the quality of the stihl units. Now, my friend owns a lawn service and he claims that Redmax and Shindaiwa are tied for the best with stihl being a very close second. He also says he would not touch a husky or echo trimmer, but he liked echo BP blowers. BTW the main reason he prefferd the shin and redmax units over the stihls is because of weight. Evidently theu are lighter than a fs 85. Durability wise he sais stihl is just as good as either of the above mentioned.
