Help with 056

I'm looking for the manuals-service and parts, for my 056. I've asked Stihl, and all they'll give me is the owner's manual. They say the service manuals are for dealers only. I've checked eBay, no joy yet. Any ideas?

There are copies floating around but the best bet is a getting someone to copy one for you. I have a photo copy here of a 056 manual that I did for someone but lost their email address.

I can print out a copy of the illustrated parts list... might be able to email it, but not sure I can extract it from my CD in a form you can use. Send me your email address and we can coordinate. Check with Bryce Stott (contact him though Ebay) at cheap-stihl-saw-parts on Ebay. I can get you in contact if you have a problem.

He has a bunch of manuals, zillions of parts (many not listed on ebay) etc and might have one to sell.

And... find another Stihl dealer - one that understands you are the "customer". Mine will order me anything we can find a part number for.

And don't misunderstand me, my Stihl dealership-Port Angeles Power Equipment has been nothing short of great since I've started dealing with them. It's Stihl themselves that says the manual is dealer only. I'll try calling them again.

Got it! Ignore stihl - they aren't set up to talk to end users... (I've has some amazingly incorrect answers from them in email when researching old part numbers... ) Your dealer can order it for you IF it's still available. The Stihl dealers have a book of all current parts numbers and retail prices. Basically if it's on the price list, it's availble from the Centralia warehouse overnight, or Virginia Beach in a couple of days.
