I am thinking about my saw setup. Currently I have 2 saws that do identical work. I started with a cs-400 for my first saw. Then recently got a 026 and learned all about teardown. I think the cs-400 would be the one to let go. The 026 weighs the same and does more

All of my activities involve bucking wood that I find down or am called about. The size varies from little 8” branches all the way to 20-25 logs. Double bucking everything is getting old. I think something in the 60cc range is what I would shoot for. 20”-25” bar.

I missed out on a 362 locally for $450, but he does have a cs-590 for 300.

I wouldn’t mind going older Stihl as I like the simplicity. What older models in the 60cc range should I be looking for?

60cc sounds pretty close to the 50cc you already have. A bigger gap of about 20cc between saws is often recommended. In my case, I run Ms180, MS260, 038super and 288xp (32cc, 50cc, 67cc, 87cc). Among others :)

The 60cc saw class is an odd ball size.
I have one and like it(ported echo 590) but it's a do it all saw not part of a 2 saw plan that's only a tiny bit lighter than a 70cc saw. With it you would only use the 026 for tiny stuff or as a spare.
If you're going to keep the 026 and plan on using it skip the 60cc saws and get a stihl 044 or husky 372 to go with it.
