Help with stihl 066 repair.

Hi

I have just fitted a new oil pump to my 066. There is a worm drive and spring that fits on top of the pump, but the spring is able to turn 360 degrees. Is that right ? I am wondering if the spring is bent. I have a repair manual but it does not mention what the outer end of the spring locks into.

I would greatly appreciate any help.

Yes this is normal. The Spring locks into the Clutch drum notch. Just make sure it lines up when you push the drum down.

The part you are calling a spring should not turn in the plastic worm gear, but rather drive the worm gear.
