Hey Dennis, ya lil degree wheel, where'd ya get the specifications for my 2171? Man does it ever get up and talk! It brings a whole new dimension to the word chainsaw!
Thanks,
Pal John

hey Gypo, where did you get that bar? It looks like it came off an old Remington!

Hi 084, your right it's a Remington, I bought it in Thunder bay for 20$. It's a good match for dumpin almost anything, wether dominoe falling telephone poles with wire ( cool by the way), or simply dumping high grade dead elm as in no formal knotching on a steep slope.

372 barrel

hello gypo lager,
well, haven't heard from you in quite a while. that is a nice looking old remington bar. i'll give you 10.00 for it. I hate to say I told you so But I did say that that 2171 johnny-red would run pretty good. Remember? enclosed a picture of a 372 barrel with some good port timing figures.

Thats a good offer Ken, I'll take it. Thanks Ken for offering as much as you do to the chainsaw world. We chainsaw folk are better people because of it.
Pal,
John

Johnboy...I am glad you are liking that saw..she is a sweetheart...And yes, it is thanks to people like Ken Dunn that allow me to build these saws...without Kens help I would still be building saws that just dont do what they can...

Ken that is a very nice looking 372 cylinder...I have one that looks very similar..;)

John,
I have one of Dennis creampuffs that (as you say) really gets up and talks also... But I think it has something to do with the stihl bar....I think it maybe running scared !!!!!

A Multi Cultural saw!!
Any conflicts with the bar with German heritage, and the power head with Swedish??
Looks like a great combination.

RE Stihl bar on an E-Lux saw:

Does Stihl market "aftermarket" bars, or did you get creative with a diegrinder?

I didn't think the adjuster dog holes and oiler holes would line up right.

Toneman, Yes I agree it dose look great....
Eyolf, The bar is stock Stihl I don't think they make any aftermarket bars. The oil hole lines up perfect and I used a adapter to line up the dog holes (see pic).
Works great . I have always took a likening to Stihl bars

These were the good ole days before Dennis went AWOL and we all were buddys and a ported muffler was the next best thing to sliced Basswood.

amen.. it ought to take a good bit to cause us to turn on each other ..
as some think chainsaw users are
gonna be a thing o the past,if they have their way..not on my watch tho ,unless they plan on walking in here an taking them away from me..[could happen brothers]..but they gonna have to get thru my hardware an me before they gettum .. and that aint gonna be easy..:)

You can have my chainsaws when you pry them from my cold, dead hands!
