Hi all,
First, I'd like to say thanks. From trunk walking (thanks Ekka) to learning a better way to set up my maasdam (thanks TreeCo) this site has been a wealth of info.
I've noticed a few have asked about the toro stump grinder attachment and I'd like to share my thoughts so far. I bought it (about 6 months ago) to compliment my Alpine Magnum. During the heat of the summer with the exhaust blowing on me, the Alpine sends me off to euphoria real quick and that's my only major complaint on it. I'm running it (toro) with a Boxer TL 224 (14 gpm flow rate) & Raycos. I put one greenteeth sample on it (they seem awesome) and though the jury is still out, if I had to vote today I would say, "bad purchase" . It tends to bog down if I get greedy with the bite and it is just simply too slow. In defense of the unit, maybe I haven't given it enough time, as I think back to the Alpine, there was definitely a learning curve. Doing 20 to 30 inch stumps I just don't see it. I see it being more of a compliment to a landscaper's arsenal doing bushes and maybe as big as 10 or 12 inch stumps.
I'm considering adding the branch manager splitter and would appreciate any feedback if anyone has experience with it?
Thanks, Mike
