hello
first of all i want to excuse my self for my spelling, my write english it's not perfect... I'm a climber from Italy and i planning to come back in the states with my wife and my two kids, we will be in Colorado because my wife is from there, i'v been a climber for 2 years here in italy i took 2 training courses here otherwise the italian gov will not let you work, one was the basic tree climbing techniques and rescue and one was advanced use of chainsaw on trees and controlled dissemble of the tree with friction and pulley, but i will love to come and work in your country and learn from the best, i got some information yet but i'm not quit sure if i understand correctly.
so im asking you folks...

do i have to do some training courses to be able to work in US? or you guys just train on the job?( im in the process to get my citizenship im allowed to work)
whats the best procedure to get everything in order to work and find a job?

thank you very much for any advice and help you can give me guys.

Welcome!

Welcome to the US and welcome to the site. No extra training is necessary, and we have several members in Colorado. Where in Colorado are you moving to? I used to live in Parker, just south of Denver. Of course if you want to play in some REAL trees, come on down to Texas!

When you get to the states just check the internet and papers you'll find a job good luck and welcome to the site.:msp_thumbup:

Make sure you start off with a reputable company. Be careful of fly by night services that may fall into financial despair and not pay you properly for your time.

thank you everybody for the warm welcome and the tips you give me... i hope to move there by september cuz here in italy climbers are really underpayed unless you got your own business...anyway its great to know that i don't need to take any other training courses

Here in Virginia climbers are in high demand, especally good ones and usually get paid well. I know several that won't leave the ground for less than $30 an hour or $250-300 a day. Good luck in the states, my family came over from Italy in 1924 and loved it here...
