Have a Poulan 3700 Bow saw coming. Have several 3700 and 4000's. If saw is bad, how much work is it to attach Bow to my other 4000's or 3700's. Is it simply a direct swap or are mods needed?

If you swap over to another 3700 you need to use the clutch cover that
came with the Bow saw. ITs all ready been cut for the bar and chain
to come through. If you use one of the 4000's you will need to trim the
clutch cover or use the 3700 cover on it. May need to trim a little off
engine side allso. You will see when your Bow saw comes.

I just want to add that whenever you cut the cover or the case for clearence you need to drill a hole in the corner and then cut to the hole that you drilled as that will help keep the corner from cracking.

I'm certain you will have to trim the engine case on that series.

Pioneer 650 Bow Saw

I was dropping of some scrap metal last weekend and I found this sitting in front of the big pile when I backed up. I've used many chainsaws but have never one like this. I have not left many abandoned tools and it was just to cool looking to let it go to waste and not add it to my collection of old tools. I haven't had a chance to get into it or clean it up, but just looking around it appears to only be missing the pull start cover.
I am completely new to this site and found this thread by google search, I feel like I've learned enough between this tread and the Pioneer saw thread to want to go forward with at least getting it running and then possibly restoring it.

thanks, Denny
