Nice cleanup. The more I see these saws and the prices that are being paid, the more I want one do the p&c conversion into my 'big' saw for a 28" b&c.

Thank you for the welcome and compliments on the saw. I think I will order the HD air filter and p/c from E&E. It will save me $25 on tax alone and the free shipping is a plus.

I will still be placing another order with Bailey's soon as there are a few items I want and I may just have to pick up another Carlton b/c before there gone. They are an excellent deal for the quality and price.

I cut up some large oak today and it pulled the 20" bar very nicely. If I get a chance to cut more tomorrow there will be some pics of the saw and the wood. :chainsaw:

Well I got a chance to cut some more wood this morning!! The saw has plenty of power to pull the 20" bar buried in oak. It went right through this good sized log with ease. It is going to be a blast when I put on the 7900 p/c. :chainsaw: I was by myself so no action shots; this was the best I could do.

Went to my locak HD to look for a saw. He had just sold one but directed me to another nearby hD. Stopped in and picked up a Makita for $205. Came home and did compression test and it hit 180. Haven't cut with it yet but plan on opening up muffler and replacing safety chain. So far so good!

Makita 6400 Rental

Ya'll aint gonna like me for this. HD $205 but after talking for a few minutes she cranked it for me. Then opened the breather cover and replaced with new filter. Checked the foam that protects brake linkage. Made sure the side chain adjuster was in good shape (a part they regularly have to replace from Bozos tightening too hard) and made sure it had a new chain on it. I offered $140 and they accepted. Before I left she gave me a bottle of 2 cycle oil, an extra chain and a complete tool kit and told me the receipt was as is. But, she said if something happens in a few days that is not normal, bring it back and let us take a look at it we don't want to leave you out to dry in the rain. Before I walked out she filled with gas and oil.

I have since bought a Stihl chain for it and it is one BAD ASS SAW!

Now me thinks one day to upgrade the cylinder kit but not necessary. But then again . . . Recently purchased a Homelite XL12 Bow Saw for $70 that I am having too much fun cutting with. Anyone have a Dolmar 5100s for sale?

Beers, . . I mean Cheers!

$140?!? Holy :censored: That's gotta be the deal of the century. Plus, the offer to fix anything that wasn't right. Mine was as is, no matter what. Fortunately, all I had to replace was the throttle cover since their repair guy broke it trying to remove it.

i bought one for $100 OTD that they couldn't get to run. all it needed was a carb kit.

If you got that one, the "Good One", so cheap it makes a guy wonder how much cheaper you could get the other two and flip them.
Awesome find

Man, I feel like I got hosed. I paid $260 out the door for my HD makita. I thought that was a fair deal, given that it was used only 20 times and looked nearly new. I'm still happy with it for the price, but I would be even happier to pay $140 or even $200.

Good deal.

$140 here also

Asked about them last month, none ready for sale but had one 2hrs north for $137. Chose to wait until one here comes up and they will call when it does! That was for a good working saw, my HD just sold all the old one's about 3 months ago, oldest had 20 rentals on it! Waiting for phone to ring.
