I have no idea why, but I did too.
I jumped right in on previous fundraisers, even helped out on a couple, but I was holding off on this one for some unknown reason. Weird.

I agree. I have always jumped in right away on the last few fundraisers but have yet to give this one much thought. Something was not sitting right.

Can we get some sorta explanation of what's going On or what happened here???

Yes i would like to know a little more myself. I did donate but it didnt feel right and had a feeling something was up. But i wanted that 1050:msp_smile: But like scoot said its a damn shame someone would do that!:msp_angry:

How about on the next if there is a next one, we all bring the concerns out in the open. Me and Stihl880 sent a few PM back and forth, I thought it was a good cause he said he had been fighting cancer for 20 years then went back and deleted that part of the post. I did not know that part till this morning.

I guess it's a 6th sense I inherited from my Mom. You know, the kind of deal where she knew what you were thinking, or knew what was going one when she shouldn't, lol

Okay, look. If you think I'm trying to scam you guys, Go ahead and think that. But you all Do have to remember, did i ask for a fundraiser? No. I actually don't like handouts, When this fund raiser was all said and done, if i wasn't dead yet, I was gonna make a post about passing a little chunk or something along those lines, to everyone that needed a saw. i didn't work out any of the fine details. But it doesn't matter. I'm not greedy. I'm not selfish, and by lord, i am NOT a scammer, or a jacka$$. It breaks my heart to be the assumed for scamming, I truly am sorry for causing any mixed emotions. but I think it's time for me to ship off. Good bye guys. Hopefully Quinn does a better job with making friend here then i did.

Well, how ironic to follow that.

Darin has asked me to go ahead and post what I had noticed. After I had made a donation, I went over and began reading the thread that Quinn had started and like many of you, I immediately began thinking something wasn't right so I did some reading of other posts. The biggest problem I found was this (dates are no longer correct).

Quinn posted this last night at 8:36 CT:

Hello, This is Quinn, My uncle Zane has had a massive stroke. Passed right through is heart. He is stable at the moment, but they say they aren't to sure about how long he has, I spent a while with him in the hospital, He told me to get on here and tell yall about it. He says best wished to everyone, and everyone that has helped him he regards the best for. He will be on again. I'm sure. But for now he's sick as a dog.

No mention of being in the hospital and if he just had a massive stroke, I found it shocking he would be on a computer the next morning. And as we have just seen from his last post, he seems to be feeling pretty good.

Also, his profile used to say he was 20 but that has been removed and in his other thread he said he has had cancer for 20 years. There were a few other things I noticed but those were the big ones.

I PM'd a few people on here and found they also had reservations so I let Darin know and then PM'd Stephen what I posted above last night.

As Brad said earlier, I certainly hope that this experience doesn't jade anyone from any future effort to help a member in real need. You all are a great group!

If there was never a problem, we've insulted the intended beneficiary.
If there is a problem, then we've got a scumbag in our midst that might need to get taken out to the wood shed.
Seems like a no-win to me. Sucks either way.

okay wendall, Here's my secret about the age thing i F'ed up when starting this account, and didn't notice it 'till i played with my sig a few times. I should have said something and I'm sorry. But when my neighbor found out i had a stroke, he came by with his lap top to let me use. (thanks to Quinn for mentioning i wanted to browse the site to my neighbor.) now that solves the mystery, Quinn posted at 8. Then 3 hours later i got my neighbors laptop to use. Sorry for the confusion.

There was a bunch of us PMing on this matter. I even spoke on the phone with Wendell and another member. Darin thought the same way also. I believe and many others that shutting it down was the best thing. Way too many things didn't add up and way too many changes to posts and profile.
