Hello all:

Doing a pressure test on my Homelite 360, I noticed a rather large pressure leak on the drive side crank seal. After replacing the seal, I noticed that it held pressure better, but was still leaking. Upon closer inspection, it seems to be leaking from the inside of the worm gear (between the gear and the shaft). Hmmmm.

No seal there? Do those gears wear out? Anyone ever see this before?

Also, how deep should the seal be set in the housing? I set it pretty deep (1/4") trying to stop the leak before I noticed the leak was not from the seal but from inside the gear. Argh!

How slow from 5 to 0? Still, I think, personanly, that 2 psi in 5 seconds is too fast. Not an expert on Homelites, though, so take my opinion with a large grain of salt.
