Well I received the parts, rebuilt the carb and replaced intake boot, fuel tubing and filter and the beast runs well now. Choke once, flip choke off and next pull it starts. Now the information that I have of on the chainsaw collectors sight for SDC warbro carbs shows it has two adjustment needles but mine only has a place for one and what I belive is a fixed main jet? Am I correct? So is this needle just for the idle circuit? It doesnt appear to affect the top end at all but I will wait for confirmation before blowing the saw up.

Fixed jet carb,humbug!

Yes,and yes! These fixed jet carbs were installed, apparently to prevent the owners from leaning the saws to a point where they ruined the engines.McCulloch did it too. They work o.k.,for the most part, but are still.in my opinion,a pain in the posterior.I have replaced most of them with adjustable jet carbs, but still have a few to convert.

Carburetors:

Hello to all. I have a small Weed-eater that has an idle speed adjuster screw and an idlle speed mixture screw. NO high speed mixture screw. She ran fine for the first couple years but got to acting up. Wouldn't accellerate, didn't mater how the carb was adjusted and would seem to die, lean out at higher speeds. Changed the fuel filter, checked hoses, etc. Finally popped the soft plug and drilled out the high speed jet, ever so slightly with a set of jewlers drills. Replaced the soft plug and she runs better than she did when new and haven't had a problem since with it. Now have a new snowblower with some sort of fixed jet carb and thinking I'll do the same with it this spring. Take care. Lewis.
