I finally got around to firing up my C-51 Bow Saw and Super Wiz. I'm getting ready to sell or trade them both and I want to get them set up to perfection. Needed some advice if anyone knows the answers to the following questions.
1) Mine is the first model Super Wiz, made from 1962 through 1965. It does not have a number designation such as 55, 66, 77, 80. Mine is blue and just says "Super Wiz" everywhere on it. According to Mike Acres site, it has a TillotsonHL-104A carburetor on it. Question: What should my "H" and "L" carb screws typically be set at on this saw/carb?
2) The local Homelite dealer was baffled by the fact that my Super Wiz does not have the 55, 66, 77, or 80 designation, and was unable to look up the air filter. Where can I find the cylindrical pleated air filter for this Super Wiz?
3) Can the air filter on the C-51 be washed gently in soapy water just like the McCulloch's, or will it simply disintegrate if I attempt to wash it?
4) On those same lines, where can I find a new air filter for the C-51?
I may not reply in a timely manner... family member has been in the hospital recently. I'm spending a lot of time with them.
Thanks, Den.
