This probably isn’t the place but it’s FREE.
Guys, I have two incomplete XL12 parts saws. I really should not have gotten them. Both are missing several parts. Both seem to have good compression. The one with the muffler gone, the piston looks good. Both have the carburetors and they look useable.
Most likely 2 useable piston and cylinders. Two good crankshafts and crankcases, two good pull starts, two core carburetors, maybe 2 good oil pumps.
Who wants them, for FREE, just pay postage and a $5 handling fee for packing, materials, boxes and tape.

I picked up a rather nice C72 today in a sale that also included two non-Homelite saws. Prev. owner said they all ran but you know how that goes. I got them home and got all three to run so I guess you can trust some people. Of course all three saws had the old gas left in them..

Saws like this aren't supposed to run. But, it is a Homelite. Aside from one new ring, everything else is pure used. I have others with worse pistons and cylinders that run. Some, really well. We will see once it tastes wood.

I'm curious why guys like the SXL925 saws so much. Everyone seems to just love them . I had one that was in good shape with nearly 200psi and I traded it away for an old gear drive Mac 73. I just didn't like the feel of it in my hands, kinda awkward and too light weight. It was a strong runner indeed but just didn't grab me like some other saws do. I love old Homelites but just wasn't all that fond of the 925. I've got a few S1050 saws and love those. That saw feels real good to me wearing a 36" sprocket nose. It was wearing a 42" when I got it but that bar was a bit much for it. Plus the I don't have any timber to cut that big. Love that bar though and the saw was in really nice shape with 200psi. Wasn't used a lot. That's a favorite to cut firewood with. Always take good care of my saws. They get a good cleaning after each use. Powerful saws indeed. The size of it and weight feels about just right in my hands . Just curious as I said though. Is it the size, feel of it, power or why do guys like these saws so much? Last pic is what I traded the 925 for... love the old gear drive Macs as well. That saw was headed for the landfill believe it or not. It's the best example I have and serial #570 which is pretty early. Someone put a fairly new head and piston it it along with an updated crank from the number on it and they are like new. Compression is stout . Too nice not to trade for me... I spun up a loop of 5/8" chipper and let it eat...Not a Homelite but it's the other brand I collect besides Homelites. I think the trade was well worth it myself...

Found this xl12 on a cold craigslist call. Cheap. I have a super and a couple parts ponies. original bar ? Im no homie expert. 
Classic early XL-12. That is an OEM hard nose bar. Points setup. Cuts wood all day long.
Looks like it will clean up just fine.
Let us know when you have run it a couple of times so we can type in capitals so you can hear us.

Safety first I always wear protection.
I made the mistake of firing up a little Remington with one of those stacks in the garage one night. Big mistake.

The loadest saw i have had here is a remington. I Repaired in late 90s . Was big ofensive beast . Wish i knew where it was...
East or west version?
Ear protection is mandatory on those saws..
