Just fixed up a SXL and I had to rob the carb off my other SXL parts saw in order to get it going. One had a Zama and the other a Walbro. Is one carb better than the other? If so then why?

Now that is the best answer I've received in years lol
Ive had about a 1/2 dozen of them and most come with the SDC walbro and run pretty good. A couple of years ago I bought 1 from a scrapyard, it had the Zama carb and ran extremely well, it could have been many things though? Like rings or hours on the saw, I feel like you'd have to have 2 identical saws to be able to really form an objective opinion of the differences.

I got into the Super EZ’s this year. My FIL turned me on to their usefulness as a firewood saw. Decent power to weight. Here are a couple I stripped down and did the top end. One has a NOS piston and rings, the other I wet sanded the slug and installed NOS rings. Both have Walbro’s and run well. Did a crank seal on one of them, PTO side. I’ve got others that need seals. Decent little machines

I was given a pretty nice 350 awhile ago that I finally got around to trouble shooting. It ended up needing a new carburetor boot and new fuel/impulse lines. It has spark, so I decided to try to rehab it.
The original boot in the 350 had a "flange" that covered the whole carb sealing surface (including the bolts). The new boot does not have the larger sealing surface (rev c version of the boot). Pictures below.

My question is do I need to add part number 29 and 30 from this parts diagram to get the carb to seal? This is a later parts diagram from a 360 and my 350 did not have those 2 parts originally.

Here are some general pictures. I don't believe it was used much.

Here's an IPL for your Terry 350. It is different in the boot area than the 350 US models or the 360's. Check page 4.

Hi folks.

I shared this on another site

I managed to pick up a next to new 350-P last weekend. PO assured it was only run once, briefly back when purchased. Has a bit of minor storage rash, but is one on the cleaner original saws I’ve happened upon. Came with original documentation, manual and some other literature circa 1975. It was stored dry and I haven’t fueled it up yet. Original scabbard from the dealer.

That is certainly a nice one.

I had one apart a week ago for cleaning, inspection, and to replace the intake boot.

I found a cracked elbow on the oiler fitting into the pump. You can run a 6-32 tap into the steel portion of that fitting and pull it out without damaging anything. I had a nylon elbow that pressed into the oiler housing quite nicely.

It is now together, starts, runs, cuts, idles, and oils as it should.

Non-adjustable oiler on this one.

Shared a clip of the 350 that I was able to get running a few posts back. Here is another Homelite that I got revived. These were owned by my FIL but I’m not sure if he ever ran them or if he picked them up at auctions over the years.

This one needed a new intake boot, new fuel lines, and carb kit.

Haven’t put a bar on it yet, but it’s running pretty well since I’m sure it hadn’t run in at least 15 - 20 years.

Still some work needed, but it’s running.

good evening. thinking of adding a Homelite to my small collection. looked on marketplace and these 2 looked interesting and are at almost the same price. both are too high but have been listed for quite a while so may be negotiable. the big guy is twice the drive as the smaller one. both supposedly run. any advice from the Homie crew about which one would be best would be appreciated.
