Pull the bolts out, remove the plate,it's just sitting there.Just lift it out.You might need to really heat it up if it's as caked up as I think it will be.A propane torch works well.

Really easy to do,they just don't tell you that it needs to be cleaned once in a while.

Thanks. I've got a parts cleaning tank,so if it's that bad,i'll just let her soak and a few wacks might take care of the gunk. I'm sure, even if I had a manual
that it doesn't tell you to clean the screen daily, right? Thanks for the help.

I tried cleaning one once, the propane torch is the way to "git er done".

Thanks,my acetlyne torch may poke a hole through the muffler case, since
they run much hotter than propane.LOL. Don't want to chance that, since
my jaw will look like this:jawdrop: afterwards, right?LOL.

On this one,you take out the three screws (#12) lift off the cover plate and take out the screen (#10).Really easy, but messy most of the time.

Thank you very much, this is great. I've been through hell and back with this
trimmer, trying to get it up and running, but no dice. I removed the entire
muffler, removed the little screen, and checked for any blockages in the unit
itself, which was clean as heck. Made a new gasket for the muffler, removed
the carb and cleaned the debris out of it,regapped the plug at .020,which
was in almost new shape, and added a few drops of mix to the carb to get
the bulb vac issue resolved. It seems like everytime I touch this POS,some
other issue is starting. I know I had a fuel issue ,the other day, since I put
a spark tester inline with the plug and wire, and it glowed a little when I yanked the rope,so I knew I had spark. I put fuel in the actual cylinder and
it ran the other day, until the fuel was used up. Today,it's just not wanting
to run. It did finally start for a few seconds, once I put the fuel directly into
the carb, but only after like 30 pulls. I've got more blisters on my fingers this
time and am ready to just go buy a new one. It's too damn hot, here in Fl.,
to be playing "games" with this POS. I honestly don't know what else,I can
possible do,check,or play with,to get this thing to actually run at all. It's
acting as if the stop switch is not full closed, and intermitently working,to
give it spark on occassion. It checked out the other day,but I knew I had
the fuel issue, then. Now it's acting as if I don't have the primer bulb vac. issue, which was not getting any fuel into the carb,it's like it's not getting any
or enough spark to start normally. This may just be the first machine,in my
entire life, that I'm going to give up on,trying to fix. I've had it.
