Homelite xl little red help

I was recently tasked with getting a xl little red fixed up a neighbor of mine. It was his dad's so it has some meaning to him. It's missing the bar and the fuel cap. The fuel cap had a pruge bulb on it and the only replacements I have found were really $$ for this little guy. Can I just us a normal xl cap with out the bulb? Also what size bars came on these little guys?

Well, not knowing about it, you might try to find an older model sans bulb model and see how the gas line is routed and the carb used on it, etc. I got one at auction for $15 and I see them for 60-80$ on Craig’s and Facebook. Switching might be a fools errand. I believe they came with a 16” bar, I run a 14”. HTH
