Well what are they and what would they be worth New In the Box??? Lets hear it!!!

No clue as to value, but here's what I can think of off the top o fmy head:

20LCS and similar early saws
770 and 990G
SXL-925
XP-10xx
2100/3100G
650, 750
8800
SEZ-100 series

Then really weird stuff like the XL-powered circular saw, EZ demo saw, etc.

Super XL's are worth some $$ new in the box. They have some cult following for some reason. Saw a brand new one on eBay catch over $250.

Also The Super EZ is their best saw ever IMO, a new one in the box would easily get $150 - $200.

As John said their big saws are still worth something. The 1000, 1050, 2100/3100, and 550 - 750 are all popular. The 880 was something they came out with at the end of their line, a last flicker of their former glory.

I don't have any right now but I'm looking through old saw shops:D I do however have a new in the box 048:)

Ryan,

I have a new 550 but I do not have the box for it. There was a new 925 that sold on ebay last night for I believe $460. I wanted it but that was way too much for me. I believe Mike Mandry has a new SEZ with the box. If memory serves me correct it went for around $250. As for the SXL some of the last few built were done in the old blue color. I belive they were still available new as late as 1998. They go around $250 now NIB. Are you interested in selling the 048 ?

On a side note if anyone is looking for some new in the box Homelites demo saws I can get a few. The last time I was in the shop I believe there is one of the XL-925 series powerhead models yet and at least one of the newer models. There may be more. They are covered in an inch of dust.

Bill

A dealer around here had a new 880 for sale last year. If someone is interested I could run by there and see if its still there

I talked with a guy yesterday that said he can get new 038 Mags and 070's yet. He got busy so I could not nail him down on a price. I will have to get back in touch with him again. I am sure the price will be too high but it is worth looking into.

Bill

Bill sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I can get you a new in the box 048 with 20'' bar and chain for $650 plus shipping.

Mr. Spamtastic Has His Reasons...

Wow,

talk about pullin' one out of the basement.

Yeah I just love the rash of guys that've been coming on here lately to make "what's this saw worth?", "I found this saw and want to sell it", and "what saws are valuable?" (that I could make a quick buck off you nuts) posts.

Helpful guys that we are (and CAD afflicted guys that we are), we give them the info, including links to pages on Acres' site. Next thing you know, there's yet more listings on feebay with Acres' info cut-and-pasted right into the listing (or one us bites the hook and contacts the dude about selling the saw)....:bang:

Notice how the pic he put up already look just like an ebay pic. Probably came on here and did a search for "Homelite Value", "Homelite XL100" and "David Bradley" (see one of his other four whole posts where he dredged un an EVEN OLDER thread and casualy mentioned a saw he just picked up............with condition info)...:notrolls2::spam::spam::notrolls2:

I am a big sucker for the "short lived" saws like the 048, I have a early 042. The rule that everyone claims here is a saw is worth what someone will pay for it. If I had $650 your 048 would be in my collection right now, so by the previous terms your price is right on target because someone would be willing to pay.

How about a picture of that 048?

My friend,

You do realize that the spamster above me dredged up a thread that's seven years old just to shill his XL100 right? The fellow you're quoting about the NIB 048 made his post in 2003. The spamster (kbeitz) also did the same thing in an even older thread (2002) about David Bradley saws. I betcha a case of your favorite beer (against a case of mine) that he will soon post up an egay link for a DB saw.....:sucks:

Don't feel bad. I did the same thing when I first read this thread. Replied to Bill G's 2003 post about the NOS Homelite demo saws...............then saw sachsmo's post about "pulling one out of the basement". Realized the error of my ways and deleted my post. Went on my rant afterwards...

I'm with ya, this time it at least wasn't obnoxious.

Besides the guys saving up for a Vette. :ices_rofl:

This don't bother me as much as all the off topic threads latley.

kbeitz, don't be surprised if someone reports you for spamming the site (no, it won't be me). Posting just to provide links to your eBay auctions isn't cool around here.

Read the guidelines.

EDIT--I see that you're currently reading this thread.

Opps I read the number 1 rule...

Advertising of any kind is not permitted at this site

So advertising my saw was wrong ?
If so I hope the FAQ will remove it...
Sorry if I ruffled some feathers...
