Not buying a Honda anything . Think it was the 400 ex four wheeler hardest starting thing I ever saw . For me Honda a lot of brag no fact.

Unless I am forgetting something I have 12 Hondas. Not one of them has given me a problem. For that matter none of the ones I've sold has either and I beat the ever living &$&: out of a few of them. Honda has lost their edge on performance in recent years but their durability still can't be matched.

The 400 ex's were pretty foolproof until they were messed with. Lots of guys put exhaust on them without the knowledge to properly jet the carbs. The result was a 400ex that could be a pain to start, or just ran like crap.

Agreed! That, or it sat and partially plugged the idle jet.

Apparently you have "no lead in your pencil" if you can't start a Honda. Only one I have that is a bit of a pain is a 9 or 10hp on a splitter, but it has several thousand hours and has almost no compression (burns oil bad too!)

I thought I was pretty good at starting stuff but my son had a TRX450R that I never did figure out the correct procedure to get it running easily. It started right up for him so there was nothing wrong with it, but for me, it was a real pita.
Probably a good thing though, that thing had enough power to hurt an old man like me.
