I have a Honda GX340 electric start and sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesn't. I tried replacing the solenoid and still the same. Could be a bad solenoid but when I put a voltmeter between the ground and the low current ignition circuit that goes to the solenoid and turn the key I don't get 12 volts there. Should I?
If I follow the wire back it goes into a little black relay which in the wiring diagram is labeled as a timer. Anybody know the purpose of this? Is it like a time delay between when you turn the key and it opens the throttle and the choke before sending power to the solenoid? Could I just bypass this? I can't find it anywhere online by the part number.
