Dang! We haven't had any rain is 4 months or so, The Lincoln National Forest has been shut down for about 2 months, and the private land owner I'm working for has had us on Hoot Owl for well over 2 months.
It's past time for our monsoon's to hit, and it's been clouding up and trying to rain, but with no success.............Untill yesterday.
We got 3.3 inches of rain in about 3 hours. As dry as it was I don't think much of it soaked in, just ran off.
So, I guess we get a day off. I'll have to do some road work when it dries out a little so we can get back in to work.
Oh well, at least my job didn't burn up before the rain.

When it comes that fast it doesn't soak in much, but it did at least settle the dust for awhile. Earlier around here it rained every time a black cloud passed over. Now we could use a good inch or so. Mother nature sure has a nasty sense of humor.

Hey Andy, hope you enjoy your day off. Don't get too bored and go to sawing on the big parking lot logs at the Front Porch

Hahaha. I don't think I'll get that bored. Those log's are full of metal, which is why they are lining the parking lot at the Front Porch instead of being milled into lumber.

I came close to turning on the heaters yesterday. I did some serious cooking instead, and that kept the house in the mid sixties. It was a day of drizzle.

Today, there is a mysterious brightness out there.
