Today I was calling around to some different arborist supply companies in the area to try to find a pair of ascenders for use tomorow. I called one place out in CT and said I would come out to check their stuff, because there is another place maybe 1/2 an hour away. The woman told me that they only have hours by appointment???? I don't see how a company could make any profit when selling to arborists by appointment only. BTW- Sean I placed a call today and ordered a Kong Double Ascender from you guys. Mark? Told me that the upper Mar Bar kit does not contain any ascenders, and that those would have to be purchased separately.

No Problem I'd Schedule my appointment from 7AM -5PM. Because That way i could drop in whatever time i wanted to.

ascenders

Its too bad we never got together to try out different ascender configurations. I've got the kong double and like it a lot. A good pair of boots for footlocking make all the difference. About 2 years ago I switched over from logger heal boots to the husky arborist boots, they made a huge difference in my footlocking efficency.
For the kong double I used a piece of 1/2 inch static to go from the ****** on my saddle to the delta link on the ascender. Double fisherman's knot on both ends worked well. Good luck.

Yeah, Corey I was looking forward to meeting up with you to try out those ascenders. I just have something I wanted to use them for... and decided to buy them now. The place I am talking about is out in Greenwich... CT arborist supply? I think is the name of the place. Technically it's Cos Cob... but greenwich is close enough.

They might need time to clean up the garage.... I read about one of the arborist supply co's and that is how they started.
If you want to see some really cool ascender configurations order the "On Rope 1" catalog. You can get some really good ideas from them (rope walker systems, etc...). I wish I had some long ascents to justify something like that.
