Not sure Carl,
But I Am sure you could have lifted it by yourself...
I used to do the same thing 22 years ago.... Even if there were others around to help I tell 'em to get out of my way...
That may be fine here and there, but that kind of wear and tear will hurt your back in the long run... When your young you think your body is indestructable... ITS NOT... take care not to wear it out.

here's the felling shot.

Haha... I might coulda lifted it by myself, I was just wondering.

I dont think my body is indestructable, but I aint afraid of hard work. With that being said, I am trying to get my groundies (aI do my best to think like that already) to think along the lines of, "Out-smart the log."

Me and my main groundy, Derrick lift together to work smarter not harder.

With a two-wheeler did it really take 3 people? Seems ineffecient. Maybe it was the last peice and they just wanted to get through?

It may confuse (they dont understand how) alot of people, but it helps alot if you dont lift with your back at all, or as little as possible.

Sweet action pic!

Always did mine about 12" - 15" up away from base on big stuff lower on smaller trees. I am more comfortable cutting notch and felling cut away from possible dirt or something that may be hidden in flare. Like to have tree on ground and then deal with base cut.
