I'll split about 2 full cord by hand per year out of the 6 I burn but that depends on the size of load I bring home , if it's less that 1/2 a cord I'll do it by hand , more than that I'll fire up a splitter to get it done .

Same here.None. I don't even own an ax.
Axes are for chopping, mauls are for splitting. Split 20-30 face cord a year for 20+ years, went to a log splitter 4 years ago. Still use a maul and wedges to break up large rounds.
