I have been searching and searching for the following information. I need to bleed the air out of a Sky-Worker lift, model number 6950. It is older and we do not have any guide or manual on it. Any one have information as to a site that I can go to with details on bleeding the system.
I can't even find this lift listed on the net.
Thanks

I strongly recommend you contact the manufacture and follow their suggestion. A while back my old Co. sent out an Ariel lift to have the rear piston replaced and the non-certified mechanic didn't bleed the air properly. The next guy who used the bucket raised the upper boom over center and lost all hydro pressure, the boom went over the back smashed into the ground and then catapulted him about 30' out of the bucket like a diving board. I watched a good man and one hell of a tree guy come close to dying that day, broke most of his bones and tore up alot of his insides. He's now still in constant pain and in a wheelchair. Don't let a mistake like this one ever happen again-Have that unit fully tested and repaired by a professionally certified repair center.

Thank You

Very good advise, I will pass it on. I have tried to find information on this and the manufacturer but have not been able to find it. My only thought is that the original company must have been sold to another company and the name was changed. Any ideas would be very helpfull.

Aerial Lift of Conn buckets are a very close design to skyworkers. Before they manufactored there own buckets they sold Skyworkers. I would give them a try.

I have experience on the skyworker booms, but not all models so lets see if I can help you.

does your unit have the 2 seperate hyd systems? most used a small closed system at the bucket to push/pull the main controls at the pedistal.
for this system, you have a square control panel with the control levers and a small black knob that pumps pressure into the system. it uses 1/4 inch lines and is a bit(h to bleed out. air in the system causes different levers to move when you push one and can be frustrating.

The one i used to have had a pump up piston right on the side of the upper control levers.Theres a resevoir that you put i believe it was automatic transmission fluid we filled it up with.check the fluid pump it up tight.
Theres a guy in Ga that has a wealth of skyworker parts and info.
His # is 864-376-7344/888-755-4144

thats the same thing I was talking about. 90% of the time they suck air/leak at the hand pump shaft. spec pump up pressure is 35psi. it should have a guage on it. lot of the time ppl pump them up too high and that blows the seal.
