how to cut tree so it doesn't fall?

We had a blowdown in the campsite this winter so I got the opportunity to try the double hinge technique again. Of course my camera battery failed me then so I had my wife take some pics with my cell phone, so the quality isn't that good, but she did catch the tree as it was folding off the stump.

This is the one catching the tree in mid fall. When it drove into the ground it broke loss from the trees it was caught in and came down.
