Hey guys I just want to know how to thank my crew for busting there butts and doing a great job.I had a ruptured appendix and had been leaking for some time got pretty septic. My crew took it to the next level and took care of business when I was down and out.For three weeks they took care of business Im so proud of them and great to have them, what should I do for them and have you been in this situation.I still cant work for another week but I can go out with them now.

hmm not really sure what to tell ya on that matter. but i do know that just saying it often means alot. just let them know you appreciate them

maybe take them out to a huge steak dinner or better yet invite them to your home and grill some steaks for them. maybe a sunday during a race or ball game. this way its a little more personal

It sounds like you have a good group of guys there . Good loyal help that can perform well without someone motivating them is hard to come by. Maybe give them a little peice of the bussines a profit sharing program , a bonus check every month and if equipment gets broke from neglect or abuse that will be deducted and also for individaul attendance . Just a thought.

Theres alot of things you can do, you can go for a one off thing or start a program of ongoing rewards as time goes. Cash is great but it can be forgotten as quickly as its spent. A good set of ratchet wrenches or a decent pocket knife is something they will have for longer.

I learned a while back from my dad that it doesnt matter how well you look after your guys that there is something that can make or destroy a guy-how happy his partner/wife/GF is.
Okay it sounds nuts but if you do something like buy flowers at the end of the day to give to they guys to take home to there wives, or a voucher for some woman stuff, or even organise a pre paid meal out for them, or books for there kids etc, it can go a long way. Wife happy, guy happy.

Another thing is to volenteer them some time on a weekend. Half a day maybe. They choose there own property or that of friends or family and you turn up with the gear and do the trees/garden whatever. Make it so the worker acts as boss to some extent. His family/friends will have a higher respect and appreciation for what he does which will make him happier about what he does. Costs little but means alot.

things that they would not get themselves, new work pants, boots, some nice work shirts with a logo that you could write off...

The steak cookouts are a nice idea too but Mike said you already do that, and let them use the hot tub.

Just keep doing what your already doing. If you hadn't been treating them good , they never would have stepped up. Pete

Buy a new MS200T & the rear handle version of he same thing for the groundie, send them to Dean or another top notch saw builder . Then present it to your top climber & groundies for use. Production should go up at which point a raise would be in order.

Pick a day and take them out for some nice steak dinners and pay them for that day off if you can afford it.Goes along way when they feel appreciated. If that is too much then do what you can do.

Good to hear your healing up. Sounds like there isn't much to add otherwise...everything that I thought of was mentioned already. Invest in them, they will invest in you.
