I'm posting a watch, for you guys. There's a disturbance I've been watching since 4 days ago.

This posting I'll string the last 5 satellite shots together, at 6 seconds each, no music or narration.

The next post will be the same images, in case someone can't open the Quicktime.

Hey, I see you speak Floridian. Nice presentation, and I hadn't even heard about this from my wife (who hangs out on weather forums to get the scoop). Do you have a background in meteorology?

Still keeping watch.

tree machine ,, i hope you are not jonny on the spot [[again]] perhaps you should consider a new line of work [ King Head Hurricane Predictator] ... when the K.H.H.P. says its coming ...look out the dictator has spoken

I wish the hurricanes would just stop. They affect us treeguys directly when they hit land, so I keep an eye on the eye, if you will.

If it weren't for you guys, I wouldn't be the freak I've become.

tree machine since you are the hurricane predictator please tell me what you think about tropical storm vince who is headed for the caost of portugal and then on into spain ... i hear it is the farthers north in recorded history for this type of storm which may become a hurricane .... geese dark

Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember when hurricane Emily trashed Bermuda in 1987 then zoomed across the Atlantic and mashed up England, they still talk about the storm of '87. That's further north than Portugal and Spain.

Currently, the formation is a huge expanse, wider across than the state of Florida. Whereas Katrina and Rita started from nothing and worked themselves up, this system is starting with a huge, established cloud system, fed by this giant cloud engine in the Carribbean to it's south. It's been building for over 2 weeks.

If it continues on it's northerly track, and catches the upper US coastline, the 'train effect' (moisture behind moisture behind more moisture...) is a lousy storm to endure. Warm, tropical, moisture-saturated air moving north into cooler areas spells p-r-e-c-i-p-i-t-a-t-i-o-n. If this massive storm system migrates and catches the US eastern seabord, States like New York, Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Delaware, Rhode Island, Massachusettes; it may not be a hurricane but it could stall on top of you and bring you many days of miserable rain and possible flooding. I don't think this storm has a chance to form into a hurricane. It's just all moving the wrong direction, but what a huge system it is. Impressive. A lot of energy being shifted out of the Carribbean and into the Atlantic.

This storm is a fizzle, as far as becoming a hurricane. Thank goodness. It's on a collision course with the upper seaboard states, however. Brace yourself for rain that is backed up by what seems like endless rain.

No hurricane on this one, but it is early October, and the Summer temps down south are in the 90's (35-37 C). The waters of the Caribbean right now are warmer than they were when Katrina and Rita were born. We were spared a hurricane out of this last system, but hurricane season is simply not over yet.

The exceedingly warm waters of the Carribbean are really pumping vapor off the water's surface.

The active area of SW Jamaica has been named 'Tropical Depression 24'

Monday morning. That area south off Jamaica is now known as Tropical Storm Wilma.

Doesn't appear to be moving toward the Gulf, but it hasn't really taken any particular direction yet. We'll keep our eyes on this one. :Eye: :Eye:

here we go again.....

Wow. She's grown immensely in the last 6 hours, winds have picked up to tropical storm status. This will form into a hurricane, it's well on it's way. We should see an eye later today (Monday).
