Husky gear heads,
My 335 is about 2 years old. Not oiling like it should, I go through 2 tanks of fuel to 1 tank of bar oil. The chain just seams to be dry most of the time. I have tried adjusting the oiler flow screw with no good results. I'm thinking it could need a new oil pump.
Has this been a problem with this modle of saw. Any sugestions to correct this problem. It has been weak on oiling since it was new. Any special tools needed to replace the pump ?
I've also had oiler problems with my 257, but that was corrected under warranty by the dealer. They put a larger copacity pump in it.

The newer 335's have an oiler with a metal screw, the older ones plastic and blue in color if i recall. The new pump works better, but is still weak. Try washing out the tank, then run the saw for a while with a bit of gas still in it....Then use some light oil, say 30 weight. If that doesn't help, a shop might be able to blow the lines out thoroughly. Make sure the oil adjustment is at full, which is all the way up.

I think my shop guy once threaded a wire through the oil channel to open them up, as he had found some silicone gasket material opbstructing the oil passageway.
