I can't that is why I own so many of the daggum things! Are we talking stock/modified/what length bars, and what the heck are we cutting? ;)

oh ya and what about dealers, are there any close by???

As far as dealers go I have a Stihl, and a Dolmar dealer within 5 miles. They are both great guys, but I really like the Dolmar dealer and the price is way lower on the 7900. Besides I do all my own tuning etc.

Thank's Man!

Mo out!

Thanks Hired Gun,

Guess the reason I like the Dolmar dealer is, he has the coolest fab shop. Never gets old snooping around while he makes me up a chain or 2. He's an Amish guy that's an artist with steel. Runs all his equipment with gas engines, Iron worker, bandsaws, welder. Hell, his welder is two 150 amp alternators turned by an old Briggs!

Hey, if you got a Dolmar dealer that is good, well thats a NO BRAINER!!! :biggrinbounce2:

Got it!

I got the 575xp yesterday. Got home today and put it together and juiced it up. I am very impressed with it so far. It started up like a champ on the first fire up, didn't choke out. I adjusted the oiler just a little to compensate for the 28" bar and went out and cut up about 50' of 20"-29" White Spruce and it cut through that stuff like butter. It has finally gotten a little bit cold here in the PNW and it was really nice to cut wood with the temperature below freezing.
So in short, I am very impressed so far with only about a 1/2 tank through it so far. My only other experience with big chainsaws is with my friends MS460 and MS440. So temper my opinion a bit as I am fairly inexperienced compared to a lot of guys on here. Thanks for the help in picking out a saw.

Good to hear you are enjoying it. Get some time on it and see how it does for you. Becareful with the oil adjustment. It only requires a slight turn. I have seen a few guys shear them right off trying to crank up the oiler.

Buy the Dolmar 7900. You will never look back.

The math tells the tale.

575 - 73.5 ccs 5.4 HP 14.9 pounds
440 - 70.7ccs 5.4 HP 13.9 pounds

Dolmar 7900 - 79ccs 6.3 HP 13.6 pounds - about $600.
