ok guys just looking for some advice not to be scolded , i recently purchased a husky 576 xp last Christmas to do some removals and considering i am a budding arborist in training it wasn't a bad future investment idea , i was cleaning my saw tonight in prep for a small job im doing for a family member and noticed a metal pin sticking out the side of the adjustable oiler screw looked into it and seems to me from husky diagrams something in the oiler called a spring clip looks to be out of place , what can/should i do , is this easy fix? , is this a common problem and should i just return to dealer if so does warranty cover the replacement or inspection this thing i don't wanna be waiting for some idiot in the shop to muck me around for a week when i got a job to do the saw cost me almost 2 grand and has only been used a handful of times and is still shiny and new someone more experienced here please help me , i don't have alot of money or maintenance exp with saws , please help cheers slummerz

will provide pictures if needed to explain my situation

the spring retains the adjustment screw in the oiler. in other words, without that spring the adjustment screw can come all the way out. it is how you take the oiler apart for cleaning, mods, or repair. when you turn the screw you will feel a lumpiness to each quarter turn. that spring does that as well. if it's not sticking way out where it's hitting your clutch forget about it and go cut wood.

if it hasn't fallen off it likely is in place. the only way i'm gonna be able to help you further is if you post a picture of that clip.

No man, you're good. Go kill some trees. That spring sits on those flat edges of the screw to hold it like that. Have you adjusted the oiler to match your bar yet?

yeh i adjusted when i got it to suit the 20" bar it the spring was in the groove on the screw head thats why i couldn't turn it then i grabbed it with needle nose pliers and pushed it aside gently, hope itl be fine , i really love this saw , it goes so hard on the tough dead trees i cut , love the power love the easy start , thanks guys

yep, your good to go. that clip is meant to ride on the square head of that screw. it squeezes against that screw and prevents it from turning in or out. there is an upper part to the clip that prevents you from removing the screw altogether unless you remove the clip first. all you need to do is go cut wood.
