I had done my research online, before going into any Husqvarna dealer, which is good because NOBODY had a 353 sitting on the shelves. It was either a 350 or 455 Rancher. I might have gone for the 350, but I was hot after the 353.

After having the 353, and handling the 455, I think you could place them side by side, and only the most frugal of customers would take the 455...

If I was rich, I'd have me a 460 to monkey with... maybe a 455 to run the three side by side by side and see how they all stack up... but thats only if I was rich. Maybe if I could turn them around for 90% of the cost I'd do it.

Wow, that's interesting. For us, the bigger/pro models are where most of the business is. 346, 357, 372, 575. Over the past 5 years, the 372 has been our best seller. It has outsold the 2nd place saw, (346), buy a 2:1 margin.

Just for the heck of it, here are our top 6 sellers over the last 5 years.

372
346
350
55 rancher
357
359

Obviously, as some models come and go, these numbers will change. The 400's and 500's are doing very well now.

I'm pretty sure it's an e tech, but i'll have to double check. I can't think of any of our customers (pro or homeowner) that have ever even asked or cared whether or not it's an etech. I guess there aren't many ppl doing mods in my area. I'm also amazed at how many other husky dealers (and some stihl dealers too) don't carry and of the big saws and how many just hand their customers a line of BS. It's no wonder people have stereotypes about dealers!

Our top 6 (in order) for husky is
350-18"
455-20" big dropoff after these
359-20"
142-16"
346XP-18"
575XP-24" or 357XP20"

for stihl it's
ms250-18" (i think we sold almost 80 of these in 1 yr)
ms290-18"
ms310-20"
ms280-18"
ms361-20"
and the last spot in the top 6 is probably switching over to the MS441

we are selling way mroe 441's than we did 440's so far.
