If a man had a blown up 261 husky what cylinder/piston would bolt up to the crankcase. Maybe 254, 257, 262 or 357, just a thought. Would you need to swap out carbs?

Fish, you wouldn't be pulling my chain would you, somehow I just don't thing the baby poulan jug would bolt up.

Yes, I am a chain puller.
I am amazed that you have not gotten a response from these Husky nuts here, they usually are quite chatty about things like
this. Personally, I do not modify, just repair saws and make them run like they were designed to. These other guys modify
saws for their own evil purposes, so they would know more about
the interchangeability of the piston/cylinders.
Come on girls! Help this fellow out. He will probably use
synthetic oil mix with a real high octane!

Yeah I will use high grade gas but only stihl mix. Maybe I'll have to ask my local dealer, He used to carry husky before Lowes started stocking them. He is still the best stihl dealer around and yes he is more expensive than most but, the coffee is always fresh and the info is free. Always has most parts in stock and can get parts for any saw I come up with. Oh well, thanks anyway Fish.

Come on you Electrolux lunatics! Give this boy an answer!!
You all can shovel out a lot of poop when it comes to silly
topics like synthetic and high octane! Give this boy a response to
his question! You are making me wonder.....

How bout a 266xp top end, larger bore but same stroke. That would be light and powerful if the crank and bearings could handle it.

The 61 is in the same family as the 66, 266 268, and 272. You can fit it for any of these cylinder/piston combinations. The bearings and crank are all the same so are strong enough. If you want the best saw build the 272 at 4.4 CI displacement. If you hop it a little it will take on the 044 Stihl without trouble. Mike
