I finally took ownership of my new power toy, a Husky 2100. After cleaning it up a bit I am looking at getting a few new parts to help the cosmetic apperance. It has the flywheel/recoil cover with a few bars/fins broke off. The filter cover is cracked, but still works just fine. The full rap handel also has a small hole under where the chain is.

So am I wasting my time replacing these parts and repainting the saw? Should I just use it as is and not worry?

Where can I find these parts new or in good shape used?

Also I tried unscrewing the flywheel/recoil cover and it will not loosen. I tried spraying it with wd40 and let it sit and it still will not budge. I am afraid of stripping the head of the screw. So what is the best way to get it off? visegrips?

What are the full rap bars made of? Should I just have mine welded up?

thanks as always:angel:

Use and impact screw driver. you strike the top of this tool with a hammer. Go easy when striking. Strike soft at first. If water got into the threads between the steel screw and the aluminum body.
a chemical fusion can occur. I have found somtimes only applying heat will unseize this. If you strip this out just go to the next size tap whether it be metric or standard.

id use good mix ,sharp chain and a good bar. work that sucker,it wasnt meant for beauty contest anyway.:) jmo
