still think you have the wrong bar - call another dealer with the numbers you have so you will know for sure. This will take you 5min and perhaps solve the problem or at least eliminate that possibility.

Big...you said the plate on the inside is fine, and you have inspected it...so that means nothing is between the plate and the casing...and you inspected the casing for cracks....I am sure you have already heard or tried this, but I am just going over it again as it baffles myself as well....when you checked the pickup screen, could there be a crack in one of the two rubber sides that clamp around the pump( if I am thinking of the right oil pump) SG made mention of calling a dealer...I looked for a service bulletin and didnt see one...but not to say there isnt one.....
If you can...try another bar and chain of a buddies just for the heck of it....in Oregon(and I think someone said this) it needs to be a K095 mount pattern...

good Luck

Here's what I'm gonna do next

Hey fellas, this 55 that's giving me fits actually belongs to my wifes grandfather who just happens to own another one just like it - except it oils perfectly. Next weekend when I visit him I will get the two saws together and tear them down and inspect. First off I will check to see if the bars are the same. If so I know I have a deeper problem. And yes Dennis, you are describing the correct oiler.

Bar is correct

I went to gramps and compared it to his other 55 that is oiling properly. The bars are exactly the same. Even held them up to each other and they are EXACT. So I took the bar/chain off the good 55 and put it off the one that isn't oiling. The bad saw still will not oil properly. It oils everywhere under the side plate but still won't get it to the bar/chain as it should. The "good" 55 will sling oil off the chain and is easy to see that it oils well. Then, I took off the 2 rubber grommets under the inside metal plate that are around the oiler and put them on the bad saw. Still does the same thing. I get more lost the more I try. I am curious as to the fix Stumpgrinder talks about. Funny thing is, this saw oiled perfectly the first 2 years of its life.

Husky 372 bar need help today if possible.

Greetings: I am a new member of this great forum.
It is hard to put this "book" down because it is so interesting. Thanks to all for sharing knowledge and experiences.

If possible, could someone verify ASAP that the correct 20" 3/8 pitch 72DL .050 roller nose bar for the Husky 372 is an HT 380 - 72.

Our 28" bar is an HT -380-93 (3/8" .050) The 372 mounting slot width is .355 / 9mm . The slot width
is my major concern as long as the selling source specifications show .050 and 3/8. I am presuming that showing 3/8 = sprocket nose.

May answer in this forum or to [email protected]

Thanks and appreciation,

WW2 Vet / 114 acre Northern California "poor farm"

Now running Huskys 142 and 372 since our 61, 262 and 36 were stolen from a locked garage. At least had sold out 394. But they also stole some bars.

I will soon be putting the stolen saws under the stolen subject. I am going for the 20" bar because they did not steal 5 nice chisel 72DL chains.

Thanks Ray

Appreciate your quick answer Ray. I did not know that Southwest
was back on line. We originally had ordered the Husky 372 from
them but after a month and no charge to son's credit card, we
ordered from Wise.

Theft is insured at replacement cost BUT holding my breath on the settlement.

Son and I should cut either our oak or eucalyptus soon so that it will cure for this winter's burning. A fun job for me although I am getting a bit "long in the tooth". (being a WW2 Vet dates me a bit

Been keeping the new saws in my clothes closet but once they are gassed up that will not suit wife Kathy's nose. :blob5:
