Cool photos....

Sap will probably complain about the image sizes. Of course dial up is just as good as broadband. Broadband just has better marketting. There's a whole lot of weak minds out here who are easily parted from their $$$. V.90 is just as good as ADSL, for less money. Gee I wish I could trade our OC-768's for a couple of V.90 winmodems....

Now back to the lynching... :)

If you want to pay $50 a month for broadband so that huge photos that should be reduced to under 100k in size before they are ever posted in the first place ...download or upload faster, or to make it easier to listen to streaming internet radio or download pron video faster....then have at it.

It's funny to me to see people with broadband connections who don't even know how to resize an image, because I know d@mn well that they don't have a hardware firewall between that broadband modem and their computer, and their connection (and computer) is...how shall we put it???......owned.

Good point Sap. And why spend all that money on chainsaws when you can pick up handsaws at garage sales for $1 each.

BTW Sap, my broadband is UNDER $30/month.

.

hardware firewall ?

well sap what kind of hardware firewall du you run ??
I use zyxel 662hw it got port virus scan to a sweet little thing :)

There's a few different firewalls on the network here. There's a main NAT firewall/router at the outside connection, and several others depending on the subnet being protected.

The zyxel should work fine. Do you have encryption or other security protocols enabled on the wireless clients? Have you changed the factory (default) password and machine ID? If you have, then congratulations...you're part of the solution, and not the problem.

When broadband gets down to where it should be cost-wise...around $20 - $25 a month or so long-term, then I'll get it. Right now the always-on dialup works just fine, thanks.

And sappy, in the greater Seattle Verizon area, DSL is 14.95 per month; cheaper than dial up...

As for your firewall/security, send me your IP address and I'll tell you how effective it is...

I see now any thread that sap is mentioned, gets derailed like a Simonizer thread. Oh crap.... I said the "S" word.........:biggrinbounce2:

Gary

Sap makes Simon look like a REAL rocket scientist. Unlike with Simon, who has a brain and a social conscience, sap lacks...

That's a special price to get dupes to sign up. After a time period (3 months? 6 months? 12 months?) it bumps back up to the regular $40+ price...and I think you sign a ....what, 2 or 3 year minimum contract? Hey, whatever floats your boat. If downloading Buck Naked pron videos is important to you, then I suppose it's worth it. It's certainly not necessary, though, for general web browsing and email.

And why in the world would I encourage you or anyone else to attempt to crack my firewall?

Good Lord Sap, those are resized. Those are all 35 mm pics put on disc, so they were HUGE to start with. If you like, I can send you those same pics in avatar sized versions, like 20k in size. Would that help?

And you're right Sawn Penn, Sap did complain about my image sizes because he called me out on my shiny saws and I put that to rest, so he had to turn it around somehow. Maybe I should just mill in my driveway like he does and not work timber, or climb trees and my saws would be dirtier....

He passed out from laughing so hard after reading my response in the airfilter thread.

Im hitting him with the smelling salts as I type.

Dude, chill out....I never said anything about your image sizes. They're under 100k so it doesn't apply to them, now does it.

And I didn't "call you out" over anything. My comment was that a lot of the saws in those photos look like shelf queens. If you want to polish your saws with alcohol every day then that's your business.

Count me in too! I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to more of this. I'm a Husky dealer defending Stihl. Sap, you are uniting us like no one else ever could. One of my good hockey buddies is a stihl dealer. Even though I don't sell them, I think they are great saws. When we get to play defence together, we sometimes talk shop on the bench. Boy I would love to catch Sap coming over the blue line with his head down.

Later I may post "The Ballad of Sap", if I'm in a creative mood.

Spike now thats gonna be good, the balland. I know ya got them wheels turning and I can't wait to spy upon the Ballad of Sap. Don't be too hard on the ole feller for ya know he is one of my bestest Frends. I like Sap so much I'm too gonna write a book about the great man. Haven't decided on the title yet. Was pondering on calling it The Great Crack That Happened To Sap, whatcha think, or maybe Sap on Crack, or Crack-a-Mania.............

Now in it's second printing!

"True Grit" The real dirt about an abrasive character and his saws.

Also available in paperback. Coming soon to "Books on Tape" as soon as we can figure how to save $.15 and record on packing tape (hey, it looks the same as as that cassette tape stuff after you cut it down to size).

Now, keep in mind that this is a saw that I had just shelled out over $500 for, and I had been using large pieces of cardboard to set it on while using it so as not to scratch it up. This was my 'baby'.
Is Sap jealous? ;)
