What happens when a person buys a Husky online from a dealer a 1000 mi away an the saw needs warrantee work. Is the local Husky dealer obligated to perform the warrantee work on a saw that he didn't sell? Do dealers make a good profit doing warrantee work?

Yes they are obligated to warranty it. I dunno if the dealers make much on warranty, but I doubt it as the rates are differant than hourly work. I would bet that bringing a mailorder saw to the dealer will result in a little foot dragging when it comes to fixing it. I know this happens with toro blowers bought at lowes that are sent a local dealer.

I agree. The work request best be followed up with a B.S. story that you just moved into town.
I dont know about saws, but with a toro snowblowers this will not work as the place of sale comes up when the serial number is put into the computer for the warranty claim.
