I was given a 141 by the wife of a family member who passed away. She said it wasn’t working properly. The bar was damaged badly and wouldn’t spin the chain so I through a bar on it that I had and bought a chain for it. After I threw that on the chain is not spinning still. With the clutch cover off it spins freely and spins like it should with the throttle. This is probably an obvious fix but here is a picture of what the saw is stamped with, the bar I put on, and the chain. When I give it throttle you can tell it wants to move but acts like it is jammed. What bar and chain combos will fit this saw? Does it need to be a husky bar and chain? Do the number of links matter? Is the 7t sprocket nose referring to the nose of the bar or the clutch? I realize the saw is calling for 3/8 and I put a .325 on there, I didn’t realize what such a small difference could make, unless there could be other issues F58E4EB0-77AF-4E81-ADE2-DF80389B0397.jpeg44C70BDB-C0F9-42A1-B22A-2907A69E9E32.jpeg9B82C034-41CC-49F7-8525-050C706258FC.jpeg

You are trying to mix oil and water. What the damaged bar has stamped on it may be incorrect as well. to be sure you will need to verify what your clutch spur (sprocket drive) or the rim drive is, I am not familiar with the 141 saws - but the pitch is critical to start with. Then you fit the bar to that pitch and Then you fit the chain pitch to the roller nose sprocket and then match the gage of the chain to the guide rail (Bar grove thickness) .043" or .050" or .058" or .063" are the realistic options.
The bar you show is a .050"gauge with a 62 drive links and a pitch of .325" your chain pictured is a "375" (3/8") pitch. Square peg in a round hole is "Probably your PROBLEM. Your saw is smaller and the drive on the clutch may be a .0375" pitch but a low profile . they pull easier ( Use less horsepower) but will not interchange with a .375" regular chain (what you pictured)

The bar In the picture is not the damaged one. I threw that one out. The one on the picture is a spare that I had. Where do you see that the chain I posted is a 3/8? It says 0.325 and matches the bar that I have installed. So basically I need a 3/8 bar and 3/8 chain to run the saw?

You caught me messing up. Post #6 sets things right for you. Lo Pro is still a different pitch than .325". and is not interchangeable with regular 3/8" pitch chain.

Yes, A041 mount 3/8 lo pro (LP) not regular 3/8

Where did you find the info that it has to be lo pro? I found Oregon makes that combo.
These saws were made in the poulan plant. They are good little saws. Any small poulan bar will work. I had a 141 that I got non running, fixed it and put a bar from a poulan wild thing on it and donated to someone in need. Still running as far as I know.

Yeah ammo, I just did a quick search for .325 bar and came up empty handed. Still, that OEM .325 rim setup is $18! Cheap.

I put a 3/8 rim low pro Oregon setup on one of my 141. Works nicely.
I wish I would have kept that 141. It needed carb rebuild, fuel lines, bar studs and a clutch cover. Fixed all that and was surprised how well it cranked and ran. I used it a little bit, but someone else needed it worse than I did.

If you check the chin 91 vg 56 you will find it to be LP but some things people like Ammoaddict just know and have literature for reference if needed.

It doesn't have to be but it does have to fit your drive sprocket/rim. If it fit with the .325 chain and bar why are we discussing chain size. Maybe your issues are deeper into the clutch or oiler but I really doubt that (yet). Does it run good with the bar on and chain off. Does it oil that way. (I would refrain from over revving the saw with the chain off)You should check the oiler to avoid surprise expenses on other repairs. AND be sure the bar you use matches up to the oiler port, and/or is listed as fitting your 141 saw.
