Husquavarna 288XP porting

I’m sure this has been discussed, but I’m new and can’t find answers and would like some help. Does anyone know of any reputable businesses that will port an older saw? It’s time to rebuild my 288XP, so I’d like to have it ported also. Not interested in buying a new saw. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Rattler362 has ported several saws for me, including two 288xps and does fantastic work. He’s located in North Carolina and can be reached by pm on this forum. He’s a great guy and I can’t exaggerate how well his saws run.

Double tripple everything dad says. Mike modded many saws for me including some 288s and they are fantastic.

Wow Scott that 288 is a runner. That saw has revs and loads of torque. It seems to me the newer saws fall on their faces at a much higher rpm then the old ones. Like this 288 here sounded like it was pulled down to 6k and still cutting. Why does it seem that way quad vs dual transfers or is it something else entirely?

I ended up doing my own, but I can tell you that you are in for a treat. Not too many saws can come near a modded 288 power per cc wise. And they are really small footprint wise for their displacement.

I messaged Miller mods and he does still work on the older saws. He booked up at least until January. I’ll be getting back with him closer to then. Those 288s in the videos are what I’m looking for.

Tree monkey does excellent work and is a stand up guy as well. He may be able to get you in sooner if time is an issue. Carl is a great guy who does great work as well.

The 288xp/188xp are awesome saws. There the size of a 266/268/162/272 but there 80’cc. These saws were the backbone of the husky lineup.
