Run a 20" bar on big cedars, like I said wish I could turn up the oil!

A 16 inch bar is the right length for the 345. On some larger wood you might have to make two cuts. You will be able to keep the chain moving much better with the 16 rather than the 18 inch bar and chain. I have used mine in really big wood - 30 inches of Oak - when I had a saw bound in the tree. It did fine - slow cutting - but fine.
