A friend brought me a 141 that wont idle and will fire and run like a scalded dog and quit. I suspect air leak carb settings. What should be the settings from start. Ill have not been able to track a service manual for it have one for 41 and says refer to owners for settings. 141 owners only has throttle settings.

Have you checked the fuel lines??? that is what mine was doing when they bad...

Carb settings 2 H , 1 1/2 L. I have seen a lot of those saws with worn crank bearings & air leak at crank seals. Check for up and down play at clutch and flywheel, it should not have any.

Look at the 4 bolts on the bottom of the saw and see if they are loose or missing, then if so, then your intake/impulse area is likely damaged..

I believe it’s a turn and a 1/2 out for both then adjust once running.

Also and very important. Under the carb at the cylinder there is a small rubber transfer pipe. If it’s torn crushed squished whatever. That will be how the responds. I bought a pack of em for like 7.00 bucks.
