Husqvarna 266se 1981

I do hope that somebody can help, finally assembly of the saw the "throttle rod" is missing, which goes between the carburetor and the plastic lever which forms part of the trigger assembly, I can't seem to find the correct part number,(suppliers can't help) it appears to be quite a long rod with some bends in it, regards thanks David

Thanks for the message, the local spares dealer also sent me that part number but that won't fit my Husqvarna 1981 266se as the distance between the carburetor and the end of the plastic trigger attachment point is much longer than the one that is shown in the picture, regards thanks David.

I made one out of #12 romex wire once......got me by until I found the correct linkage.....

the saw is fully original ,It's jut that on the 266se, there are different models with different subtle differences, and mine is definitely a 266se on the engine plate, and the early one , regards thanks David

Yes, the SE did use the number you posted but there seems to be more than one linkage for them.. A pic of what the OP has and a measurement between where the lever end eye to the carb would be a big help.

I keep a few bicycle spokes around for forming chainsaw linkages for old vintage saws that parts are near impossible to find.

I have had them to short and to long but I've just re-bent them to fit.

Thanks, great idea am not going to worry about trying to find genuine throttle rod, will definitely make my own, regards David
