Husqvarna 266XP with 48mm piston

Hi from all peoples.
I have old broken Husqvarna 266XP without factory label.
My main problem - cyl. and piston 48mm.

With one ring 1.5mm

It's probably a 61 or a 262 with a 266 recoil on it

I find chinese parts with piston 48mm.
And I'm not quite sure it will suit me...

On my next foto cyl and piston Husq 262 - 48mm.
Realy possible place this on my 266XP.

I see problem with carb. mount

If possible clean up your OEM cylinder & put a new meteor piston in it.
You can put a 266 or even a 272 top end on it... depending on what you're starting with you may have to replace or modify the intake &/or top cover.

Now my cyl. broken and not work...
262 will suit me not need more

And next problem with Air Conduktor

Your cylinder is a 162 ,early one by the shape of intake.They were 48 mm. I guess the starter was replaced at some with one from 266.

262 P&C is a whole different saw platform and will not fit the 162/266 cases

262 cyl wont fit,different bolt pattern,piston pin size different, ports wont match with 162 case.Why dont you use a 272 cyl instead,almost instant bolt on,much simpler and you get more hp.

If you are going to "272" it- you need the intake tract and carb from a 272 as well as the piston and cylinder.
Bearing failure is a good way for flywheels to contact and smash air conductor plates- check the bottom end very well before throwing money at a saw that was possibly put together from a box of old worn parts in order to make a dollar,

What you have there is a 162. Design of the piston gives it away. Closed transfer 48mm bore is 162/630, 266 would be 50mm bore.

a windowed piston is from a closed port jug, not a 61
maybe a 162?

Looks like a 61. Can’t be a 262…completely different saw.
That dog is definitely off a 61
