I just picked this up in a package deal with another Husky for my brother in law... I'm half tempted to keep it, but it wouldn't fit in next to my Stihls. :)

Husqvarna 272xp power head. Very decent shape- see pics. Starts and runs excellent, both hot and cold. Blows 150psi compression. Revs up great. Will make someone a very nice saw.

As you can see in the pics, it is not mint- it doesn't appear to have been abused, but its certainly been used. Minor damage includes:

- small dent in muffler
- wear on chain cover
- stop switch has nub broken off
- one of the top cover screws spins freely

Other than that, its tip top. Asking $290, plus shipping. Please PM/email if you have any questions. Thanks!

Against my better judgement, I may also consider a trade for a 044. :)

well,
it ain't for me...ima stihl guy..
actually, my buddy does'nt even know anything about it.....
i'll tell em once i get it..

Don't run it or you will start the migration to the dark side.

That saw was tempting. With a squish adjustment and a muffler mod, it would be a very nice firewood saw.

naw, i don't think that'll happen neil..
a couple of months ago we were cutting firewood together (oak).
i took along my masterminded 260 and 441mtronic, he had his 272xp, we cut for awhile, so i said, hey, ya wanna take this (441) for a test drive ??
i handed him my saw, he tried his best to stahl it......no go, she just kept eatin..
after a few cuts he handed it back and said, "does'nt that hurt em running with that much power ??

edit; btw, i was making 2+ cuts to his one......chains, maybe ?? but not all chain..

Reading between the lines, are you comparing a MM ported 441 with a sharp chain to a stock 272 with dull chain?

Very nice 272xp. I missed it and I'm sorry I did.

I bought a builder yesterday. I spent all day hunting parts as my work appointment cancelled. It really was kind of fun, I made some new friends, Ebay selling AS members and talked to a lot of members in the swap meet threads. Of course I bothered Nmurph too. Finding decent oem parts for saws this old is a challenge for sure.
