I got this 365 Husqy going with a carb that is standard to a 365xp or 372xp, the 365 is open port, I have found just one spec that lists 10,200 rpm max RPM, it hesitates and loads up if it’s set that rich, throttle response is best around 11,999-12,300 rpm, (my tach jumps around a bit) I don’t want to lean it too much, and its a loud saw, no baffles, the later models, from what I read were closed port and had a rev limiter around 13,500rpm any thoughts on settings? What about Idle rpm?

12000-12500 max rpm is likely where it should be set.
Idle is just under 3000 rpm.
I dont use my tach much, I tune by ear and cut speed in a big stick of wood. I dial in the idle then set the high rich so it fourstrokes and lean the high out a little at a time until the fourstroking clears up under load and it cuts it's fastest. I find they cut the best just a hair rich, lean and over revving will slow them down in a big cut.
