Are you makeing reference to one of the anti vibration mounting springs between the handle/tank assembly and the rest of the chainsaw?

use a 4mm allen wrench & stick through the spring. It has a bolt inside of it that threads into the cyl.

will try. thanks. so when I take the one off the parts saw I must have to "pop" the plastic end off with the female thread to get to the 4mm fitting right?

No, the wrench will fit in the hole thats in the plastic end.

the 372 the sping theads onto the plastic unlike the 390 which has screws- cylinder is the only one with a screw- top back is sometimes stuborn- done a lot of both models
