Yeah it runs awesome and pulls hard. I dig it! How do they do with a good muffler mod ?
Loud as hell! I got a muffler that someone brazed a 181 deflector onto in such a way that they were able to add a spark screen, it helped the saw get a bit more snap and it certainly lets everyone know where I'm cutting!

They might look nice, but they don’t really run all that well. 20% slower than OEM stock cylinder

Meteor kits has to be about same way or close. It is close but sure not oem OE 50mm. Just doesn't have that mad hornet feel you get from oem saw.

Both muffler modded only.

But if you didnt have oem to chose from it has been best of those I had on one so far tested out. Some of the others were just so lazy and down on psi stock.

Husqvarna no longer makes the 75cc 51.4 372XPW piston and cylinder. If you try to order it they send you the standard old school 372XP 50.0 single ring piston and cylinder. I called Husqvarna and asked them what about the 375 K and they said to use the 50.0 piston and cylinder on it because the 51.4 is NLA.

It sucks because whenever a customer brought in an old 372XP that was burnt up we would rebuild it and always order them a 51.4 piston and cylinder because it was always the same price as a 50.0. So it was like giving them an upgrade at no extra cost.

All of us at the shop were devastated when they became NLA. Wish we would have bought 20 P&Cs for stock.

This seems like a good thread/place to ask this question.

Assume I'm Husky illiterate, not far from the truth, and I wanted to swap a bigger top end on my 79xx Dolkita for more CCs. Do these 371/2 match at the base bolt pattern?

The handlebar mount looks close and so does the base gasket. I understand the other differences and could work around them.

So you want to give up 8cc? Reduce your displacement??

Go check the stokes and possibly redo your math. 4.3 cubes there. I assumed the 371/2 were both 36mm at the crank?... yes?... I never actually check that on the OE early edition. Makita is 37.5mm. Some Solos were 38 on the crank or was that Shinnys.... hum.

I have 54mm NPW on it now but would like to have to not spend a weekend redoing the casting to get my transfer ports to breathe better. That makes the saw 84cc but suited more to a longer bar running lower RPMs to gain more transfer time. A fast saw it will never be. Having three more 6401s to play with encourages tinkering. Getting into new 79xx top ends gets expensive for tinkering. Not real fond of the narrow piston skirts or ports but Kevin proved you can make them scream with a little love and some test time.
