The general consensus is I need a saw or saws in between the two I have. 20 to 28 in bars sounds great. I would like to work up to a 395, so I will have to use it as little as possible until I can get going on a medium weight saw more and learn up. Thanks to all!

365xt or 372. A 395 with a 28" bar will kickback a lot different than a short bar. The longer the bar the slower the kickback. It can push out of a cut if it pinches the top of the bar in an up cut an bruise your shins. Don't ask me how I know that part.

Thank you for the replies. I really am getting a better understanding of this art. I will let you know how it goes... if I am still able to do so...
