Hey Gang,

I'm considering purchasing an old husqvarna 50 Rancher, it's the white top version, owned since new in the mid 1980s. I've been in the market for a firewood saw for awhile, but don't have the budget for the big rigs as of yet, so was hoping this ol girl would keep me in heat for now. Anyone have any insight on the rancher as a firewood saw, experiences they'd care to share?

Thanks

T

I restored my late father's white top 50 Rancher circa 1984. Fantastic saw! Starts without hesitation, unless it has sat for more than a week. It is a great medium saw, not too heavy but has enough snort for dense hardwoods. Keep up on the maintenance and she will never let you down. It is my go-to!
